We’ve had the pleasure of working on an exciting residential development in Buckden, Cambridgeshire, alongside Vanguard New Homes Ltd. The project involved transforming a plot of land into two brand new detached dwellings.
Our role was to take the planning approval, which had already been obtained by the sellers, and convert it into detailed construction drawings ready for submission to building control. The goal was to make sure everything ran smoothly on site while keeping the project moving forward efficiently.

Our Solution
To get the project underway, we created detailed construction drawings based on the existing planning approval. As the build progressed and requirements evolved, we ensured that the drawings were regularly updated, so the site team always had the most accurate and up-to-date information. Maintaining close communication with everyone on site has been key to keeping things running seamlessly from start to finish.
Early on, we faced a small challenge – it wasn’t possible to deliver M4(2) building regulations under the existing planning approval. Rather than letting that slow things down, we took a proactive approach and began the process of removing this condition through planning, ensuring the project could continue smoothly without compromising on quality or compliance.
As you can see from the gallery below, the project is now entering its final stages, and both homes look fantastic, ready for their new owners to move in and make them their own.
