Project Brief

Our client, a quirky independent plant shop on George Row, contacted us to discover more about our planning and architectural services in Northampton. They had recently purchased a retail unit inside a listed building and required our help with gaining planning permission.

  • Location: George Row, Northampton
  • Property Type: Retail Unit
  • Project Value: 5k-10k
  • Service(s) Used: Planning drawings, heritage statement and design and access statements.

Our Solution

The shop front was incredibly outdated and had gone through its fair share of wear and tear, which meant it needed to be completely refurbished. Our client planned to keep the original decorative glazing but repaint the shop front and add their branded signage.

We worked closely with our client to create a bespoke solution, which covered design and access statements, planning drawings and a heritage statement. These were then submitted for planning approval and listed building consent. The detail and accuracy of our documentation meant that it took less than eight weeks for both requests to be approved, and our client could continue with their renovations without delay.

The results look excellent, and we are thrilled to see what a success this fantastic independent shop has been!
